This boy can boast to have Hemingway genes on both sides of his pedigree, but his pedigree doesn't stop there. His grandsires are 6Peruvian Accoyo Elite and Mister Antonio, with great-grandsires Peruvian Hemingway and PPeruvian Vengador. His great-granddam is Peruvian Benatton, one of the most successful dams ever in the United States.
Royal Dutch is a large, proven herdsire who has all of the characteristics of the Hemiaccoyo bloodline. Based on the powerful genetics of Hemingway, he is strong and conformationally correct and demonstrates fineness of fleece, crimp, bundling, and brightness. His crimp has a curvature of 52.3--and 53 is the top of the alpaca scale! He is a remarkable specimen of his superior genetics.
Royal Dutch has exceptional cria--all with fine, crimpy, bundled, and bright fiber. And as a bonus, he passed the medium brown color of one of the dams on to her cria. Another cria out of a medium brown dam is light fawn. More cria are on the way from this impressive herdsire.
Royal Dutch won a “First Time Exhibitor Award” for the highest scoring huacaya fleece at the National Conference in 2006. “First Time Exhibitor” fleeces have the highest scores of all of the ranches exhibiting for the first time at the national show, which this year was the largest ever, and showcased over 2,000 of the nation’s finest alpacas. There were 659 entries in the fleece competition, and the Royal Dutch fleece scored only a few points behind the Grand Champion.
Royal Dutch is co-owned by Cascade Alpacas of Oregon and MelHay Farms.
