Open to all, and designed for both new and seasoned alpaca enthusiasts, our spring educational conference features exceptional presenters and exciting topics. We are delighted to announce that this year's Keynote Speaker is the always-popular AOA Senior Fleece Judge Cheryl Gehly!

Keynote Speaker Cheryl Gehly is a Senior AOA Fleece Judge, Judge Trainer and Instructor in the US.  She completed the International Alpaca Fleece Judging School in Peru in 2001.  Cheryl is a co-author of the AOBA judging and training book entitled The Art & Science of Alpaca Judging.  She also co-authored the Suri Network Suri Herd Improvement Program (SHIP) Classification Form, and is a certified classifier, evaluating conformation and fleece characteristics on suri alpacas throughout the United States.

With 25 years as a teacher in her background, Cheryl has been an innovator for alpaca judge training since 2003 as chairperson of and liaison to the AOBA/AOA Judge Training and Certification Committee, responsible for establishing clinics for halter, fleece, and oral reasons instruction. She is also a member and former chairperson of the AOA Judge Advisory Committee, as well as being a judge liaison to the AOA Show Rules Committee. In addition to judging fleece shows throughout the US and Canada, Cheryl teaches at breeder seminars throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Cheryl will teach two Saturday morning sessions on fleece evaluation, and two afternoon sessions on conformation evaluation.  CLICK HERE to read all four course descriptions.

If you have two or more alpacas you would like to bring for the afternoon field work, please contact host Nikki Griffith to make arrangements.

On Sunday PNAA Secretary Nikki Griffith will lead us through the benefits of an Openherd presence, a PNAA member benefit.  Be sure to bring your laptop.  We'll also enjoy a rousing Q&A with senior PNAA members on Marketing through Social Media, Considering New Revenue Streams for your farm, and much more.
