Farm Tours - Open Barn Days & Private Tours

  • Open Barn Days - These free, fun, family events are scheduled several times each year; check back when we get to at least Phase II of the Pandemic.
  • Private Escorted Farm Tours for Families -- Take a tour into the barn, the pastures and through the farm and see these adorable creatures up close; you can perhaps hand feed them, take a selfie and might get a paca kiss.  Topics covered include a bit of history, information about the industry, why we raise these glorious creatures, etc. We practice social distancing and ask that our visitors do the same.  To purchase tickets for your private farm tour online you can click "Farm Tour"!  Tours are offered (weather permitting) on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings at 10:30am.  If the weather is fine at other times throughout the year, just give us a call!

The Fuzzy Wuzzy - A Fiber Studio / Leather Arts Studio and Farm Store

Visitors to the farm are welcome to browse our onsite fiber and leather arts studio where we make many different things from our award-winning fleeces.   Here you can find:

  • Custom hand-crafted accessories and gifts made by local talented fiber artists from the luxurious fiber from Sandollar’s elite award-winning herd;
  • Custom hand tooled leather accessories made by Collins, an extremely talented leather artisan;
  • The yummiest of luxurious alpaca retail items including a variety of clothing and accessories, home decor;
  • Fabulous 100% alpaca yarns, roving, batts, etc. for the hand crafter.


Alpacas 101 - For Fun & Profit - March 13, 2021

This is a full day workshop offered several times each year which introduces the alpaca and the alpaca livestock industry today to those who do not already own alpacas as well as those who do!

  • SESSION #1 in the morning introduces the alpaca, its history, fleece and conformation characteristics, the industry, and why you might be interested in this industry as a hobby or business; AND
  • SESSION #2 in the afternoon workshop focuses on basic husbandry for the alpaca, as well as handling and training of alpacas.  Lots of hands on time!

Come learn all about this emerging livestock opportunity, whether you just want to own pet, fiber or pasture ornament alpacas, or seedstock alpacas becasue you are seriously considering entering the industry as a business opportunity. Find out what it's like!
